Elkon Plant at the World’s Second Largest Offshore Oilfield

ELKON, which is the most preferred concrete batching plant manufacturer for the world’s most important and prestigious projects, has supplied one concrete batching plant for Upper Zakum Offshore Oil Field Development Project within 2014. ELKON supplied its equipments for the second phase of Upper Zakum Offshore Oil Field Development Project, Abu Dhabi-UAE, which totally worth US$3.7 billion. Upper Zakum is the second largest offshore oilfield and fourth largest oilfield in the world.

The second phase involves the development of the facilities on four artificial islands including wellhead control, manifolds, crude oil process facilities, water injection and gas lift, booster gas compression facilities, oil export pumps, power generation and ancillary utilities, and modification of the existing facilities. Up to 22 production modules comprising of a wellhead control and oil processing unit will be constructed as part of the second phase.

ELKON has supplied 1 unit ELKON Mobile Master-100 Lion Mobile Concrete Batching Plant for this project. The plant was equipped with 3000/2000 l. Twinshaft Mixer and has 90 m³/h capacity. The plant was installed and started by ELKON engineers on September, 2014 and since then the plant has been suppliying concrete for this respected Oilfield project in Abu Dhabi.
