The Megech Irrigation Development Project in Ethiopia’s Amhara Region represents a major milestone in the country’s agricultural and water infrastructure development.
Covering around 4,000 hectares of land and benefiting more than 30,000 households, the project aims to strengthen irrigation capacity and support local food production.
The project also drew national attention with a site visit by Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, highlighting its importance for the region’s sustainable development.
We are proud that ELKON concrete batching plants contributed to this landmark initiative, ensuring continuous, high-quality concrete supply throughout the construction of the dam and irrigation systems.
The chosen model is the ELKOMIX-135 QUICK MASTER Compact Concrete Batching Plant, equipped with an ELKON 4500/3000 L Twin Shaft mixer, 4x20 aggregate storage bins and 2 units 100 ton cement silos.
With more than 50 ELKON plants operating across Ethiopia and a dedicated local team in Addis Ababa, we continue to support major infrastructure and development projects across the country through installation, after-sales and spare parts services.
