ELKON: Reliable Partner for ROMANIA’s A3 Highway Project

A leading Romanian construction company, specialized in road and bridge infrastructure, has undertaken the construction of the 3C2 Chiribiș–Biharia section of the A3 Highway Project in Romania.

The project includes the construction of 18 bridges and overpasses, along with the installation of an integrated Intelligent Transport System (ITS) featuring:
• Dynamic Information System (VMS): Electronic panels displaying real-time traffic information.
• Dynamic Weighing Systems (WIM): For measuring the weight of moving vehicles.
• Security System – INFRA: Infrastructure monitoring via road incident detection cameras installed every 2 km.
• SPEED System: For monitoring and detecting vehicle speed.

The contract for the 3C2 section, extending 28.5 km across Bihor County is scheduled for completion within 18 months, with a total project value of €155 million.

We are proud to announce that the ELKON ELKOMIX-120 Quick Master Compact Concrete Batching Plant is ensuring the smooth and efficient concrete supply for this significant section of the A3 Highway. The company had previously relied on ELKON ELKOMIX-120 Quick Master for another project in 2021, reaffirming its trust in ELKON’s proven reliability.

The Elkomix-120 Quick Master is equipped with a 3375/2250 L ELKON Twinshaft Mixer, capable of producing up to 110 m³ of vibrated concrete per hour. The plant features 4 x 20 m³ aggregate storage bins and 3 units of 100-ton bolted-type cement silos, ensuring high-capacity and uninterrupted operation.
